Fox News’ Greta Van Susteren apologizes for photo faux pas

Few things seem to shake up amiable Fox News host Greta Van Susteren (pictured), but there she was on her blog Monday, reports the Huffington Post, apologizing profusely for "a doozy of a mistake" made during her broadcast earlier in the day.
While reporting a story on Rep. Maxine Waters, a California Democrat who has been charged by the House with ethics violations, an accompanying image of another public figure, Shirley Sherrod, was erroneously displayed. Although both women recently made headlines under public and political scrutiny -- Sherrod was fired from the USDA for incorrectly being cast as a racist -- they physically have little in common that they should be mistaken for one another. But…the faux pas caused embarrassment because of one glaring commonality: both women are African-American.
"We really don't know what to say and there is nothing that you can post to make us feel better (not that we deserve to feel better!)," Van Susteren blogged after the live news incident. "This mistake was bad, very bad and we are immensely sorry."
